After Hours with Daniel Boulud

There's so much to watch on Hulu that sometimes its hard to find the gems, but this show has been a real addiction of ours lately. Its an insidery look at Chefs and Chef-culture, at restaurants and how they are run. There's also some great shows on our most famous New Orleans restaurants. The show has a simple formula and it sticks to it. Chef Daniel spends a day hanging and cooking with the restaurant's chef and then they invite some foodies and local luminaries to join them for a late dinner. Food porn at its best. Well the best is No Reservations with Bourdain, but this is up there.

"Meet The Grape: Sauvignon Blanc"

Sauvblancgrape265w

Saturday at 3pm, Hosted by Greg Knapps of Lirette Selections
It's almost Spring so its time to rediscover all those great whites and roses we've been ignoring through this long bitchgod of a Winter. So we're going to start with that tangy, tarty, nervy, racy, zesty little number known as Sauvignon Blanc.
Probably the most versatile food wine among the whites, it will be a great companion this Spring for all those meaty morsels sizzlin on the grill, but it can also pair well with tomatoes, bell peppers, cilantro, raw garlic, smoked cheeses and all sorts of fresh garden goodness.
Tasting:
Quintay 2008, Casablanca Valley, Chile
Terrace Heights Estate 2008, Marlborough, New Zealand
Jean-Michel Sorbe Reuilly Blanc 2008, Loire Valley, France
Vacheron Sancerre Blanc 2008, Loire Valley, France
Kalin Cellars Reserve 1997, Potter Valley, Mendocino, California

And we'll also have an awesome Tasting Plate:
Grilled Gulf Drum with Fresh Herbs, Braised Pork Shoulder with Rose' Reduction, Manchego and Bouche du Poitou
